How we make
We love the idea of supporting our local manufacturers and suppliers. We use beautiful wools from one of the UK’s oldest mills nestled in Yorkshire as well as our own fabric which is designed in-house and printed locally. Our wood is also locally sourced and FSC certified, and our legs and lamps are flawlessly hand-turned by Phil, (our Wood Man extraordinaire) right here in Manchester, England. You could say, we’re ‘hyper-local’ in our approach.
Here’s why we like this…
- It gives you a better product with longevity and reliability. We have control over where our materials come from and can easily connect with the makers, suppliers and you the glorious customer.
- When you support us by buying our furniture, you support our community. You help to keep heritage skills such as woodworking and upholstery alive.
- Our carbon footprint is naturally low due to the low mileage our materials travel.
- We always have one eye on the environment and keep waste to an absolute minimum. We’ve recently switched to a ‘no foam’ policy and instead use more natural fillings such as coir and recycled wool. We keep our packaging to a minimum, reusing old bubble wrap and cardboard. This is mostly donated by our local deli, which also sells deliciously warm Pain au Chocolat!
