How long are your quotes/estimates valid?

6 months. Talk to us if you’d like to secure your price for longer.

Do you reupholster sofas?

We are limited by space and can only take large pieces if they can be dismantled.

Do you do replacement Ercol cushions?

Yes. Please get in touch with your requirements.

Do you do repairs?

We can often repair a chair’s frame before full upholstery but it depends on the damage. We don’t do general repairs like rips in seats, cigarette burns, wonky springs, or fixing cheap furniture that will continue to break!

How will I get my furniture to you?

Where possible we request that you bring the furniture to us and collect it upon completion. An experienced courier can be recommended for larger pieces and further distances.

How should I choose the fabric?

You can view our many sample books or supply your own fabric. Your own fabric must be provably Fire Retardant up to the required standards. Your fabric must also be suitable for upholstery and may be subject to a surcharge (£5 per metre) by Twisted Loom; think of this as ‘corkage’.

Getting a reupholstery quote

It’s always good to see the piece first, to check that the frame etc is in sound condition. Detailed photos and descriptions might suffice. Often an old chair could have been reupholstered three times before it comes to Twisted Loom, so there may be more layers of old fabric and hundreds of tacks underneath; a factor that adds to the cost. After discussing your ideas on style and fabric, you’ll receive an estimate and start date.

How do I look after my new Twisted Loom product?

Ottomans – please consult a professional upholstery cleaning service if you have any unfortunate spills. Dust the lovely legs, they don’t need polish or water. When you first screw in the ottoman legs, please be careful and turn gently until the screw ‘bites’ in the nut. The legs are not designed to be removed and re-screwed multiple times.

Cushions – Professional dry clean only

Lighting and shades – dusting with a microfibre cloth is sufficient. No need for polish and definitely no water. See the shop listings for further details.

For fabric – professional cleaning only

For wood – wood is a natural and ‘living’ material. It changes colour over time. All our wood is sealed with protective oil and should be looked after with regular light dusting or wiped with a soft microfibre cloth. Due to its location, your bathroom bin could get splashed with a few drops of water that may leave light water marks. Gently wipe these off with a damp cloth. You may need to renourish the surface with a natural, uncoloured beeswax or natural Danish oil.

Tell me about your guarantees

We are confident in the quality of our products, and we want you to be happy with your purchase. That’s why we offer a simple guarantee:

Ottomans and stools.

  • We offer a lifetime guarantee on the frame of our furniture. If the frame breaks, we will repair or replace it for free. This guarantee is valid for domestic use only and covers loose joints and timber breakage only.

What is not covered:

  • Furniture accessories/hardware/ironmongery, such as hinges etc.
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or accident.
  • Damage caused by humans, pets or other animals.
  • The guarantee is invalid if the furniture has been reupholstered by another party after purchase from Twisted Loom.

Lighting which includes electrical luminaires

  • We offer a 20-year warranty on the non-electrical/fixings components of the lamp. If the lamp ever breaks, we will repair or replace it for free. This guarantee is valid for domestic use only and covers timber breakage only.

What is not covered:

  • Lampshades, whether integral or not.
  • Electrical elements and fixings of the lamp.
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect or accident.
  • Damage caused by humans, pets or other animals.
  • General wear and tear.
  • The guarantee is invalid if the light has been amended in any way by another party after purchase from Twisted Loom.

  • Same as above, unless otherwise stated.

You must have proof of purchase.

If we deem a repair or replacement impossible for any reason, the item may be returned and exchanged for a Twisted Loom voucher, the value of which will be determined upon application.
